چکیده

The tail dependence indexes of a multivariate distribution describe the amount of dependence in the upper right tail or lower left tail of the distribution and can be used to analyze the dependence among extremal random events. This paper examines the tail dependence of multivariate t-distributions whose copulas are not explicitly accessible. The tractable formulas of tail dependence indexes of a multivariate t-distribution are derived in terms of the joint moments of its underlying multivariate normal distribution, and the monotonicity properties of these indexes with respect to the distribution parameters are established. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the results.

Hessian Stochastic Ordering in the Family of multivariate Generalized Hyperbolic Distributions and its Applications

In this paper, random vectors following the multivariate generalized hyperbolic (GH) distribution are compared using the hessian stochastic order. This family includes the classes of symmetric and asymmetric distributions by which different behaviors of kurtosis in skewed and heavy tail data can be captured. By considering some closed convex cones and their duals, we derive some necessary and s...

Tail Dependence for Heavy-Tailed Scale Mixtures of Multivariate Distributions

The tail dependence of multivariate distributions is frequently studied via the tool of copulas. This paper develops a general method, which is based on multivariate regular variation, to evaluate the tail dependence of heavy-tailed scale mixtures of multivariate distributions, whose copulas are not explicitly accessible. Tractable formulas for tail dependence parameters are derived, and a suff...

General Multivariate Dependence Using Associated Copulas

This paper studies the general multivariate dependence of a random vector using associated copulas. We extend definitions and results of positive dependence to the general dependence case. This includes associated tail dependence functions and associated tail dependence coefficients. We derive the relationships among associated copulas and study the associated copulas of the perfect dependence ...
